Karen A. Stegall, age 82, passed away in Corpus Christi on Wednesday, January 9, 2019.
She was born on February 15, 1936 to Freda and Raymond Apel in Portsmouth, Ohio.
She was a graduate of the University of Texas with a Bachelor’s degree in English. She taught at Taft High School for 30 years until her retirement in 1995. She was a longtime member of Faith Lutheran Church in Taft. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Karen leaves behind her loving husband of 58 years, Roy Stegall of Taft, Texas; two children, Todd (Tanya) Stegall of Portland, Texas and Jill (Kenneth) Brelsford of Taft, Texas; her grandchildren, Dmitriy Stegall of Portland, Mihail Stegall of Portland, Cody Brelsford of Corpus Christi, and Quentin Brelsford of Flour Bluff; one sister, Rita Babcock of Tyler, Texas as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and many cherished friends.
Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 11, 2019 at The First Baptist Church in Taft, Texas.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at The First Baptist Church in Taft, with Cindy Hunt officiating. Interment will follow at Palms Memorial Gardens in Portland, Texas.
