Berta C. Labbe

Berta C. Labbe, age 90, passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, January 22, 2023 in Alice, Texas. She was born December 3, 1932 to Pedro Cantu and Aurora Saenz in Realitos, Texas.

Berta had a feisty spirit and a contagious smile. As a homemaker, she took pride in creating a warm and loving home for everyone. She loved spending time with her daughters and grandchildren shopping at the mall. Her family has so many great memories that they will cherish forever. She was the love of their lives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene E. Labbe; brothers, George, Louis and Raul Spencer; sisters, Sarah Sears, Sofia Spencer and Emma Cardenas.

Berta is survived by her daughters, Debbie Labbe, Darlene Labbe ( Richard) Moreland, Denise Labbe (Steve) Cavazos all of Alice, Texas and Donna Labbe (Mike) Leal of Corpus Christi, Texas; grandchildren, Leah (Travis) Lively, Christian (Paiten) Cavazos, Erin E. Cavazos, Stevie D. Cavazos, Linzee L. Leal, Austin Kyle Moreland and Michael Leal; great grandchildren, Monroe C. Cavazos and Locklin D. Lively; sisters, Wilma C. (John) Slayton and Doris S.(Wally) Garcia both of Alice, Texas and sister in law, Delpha (Richard) Skidmore of New Braunfels, Texas.

A Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Friday, January 27, 2023 at Holmgreen Mortuary with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 12:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:30 PM on Friday, January 27, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Christian Burial will follow at Alice Cemetery.

Honored to serve as Pallbearers will be Richard K. Moreland, Austin Kyle Moreland, Steve Cavazos, Christian Cavazos, Erin E. Cavazos, Mike Leal, Michael Leal and Travis Lively.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to Dr. Isaac Guerrero & staff at Christus Trinity Clinic, and Gentiva Hospice & staff. Especially Lauren RN, Kathryn RN, Carol CNA, Catherine (Cati) caregiver, and Del Cielo staff.

We would also like to thank all of our friends and family for their prayers and condolences.
