Barbara Lou Stevens passed away peacefully at her home in Salado, Texas on Wednesday, June 26, 2019.
She was preceded in death her parents, her daughter, Donna K. Swartz, great-grandson Harley, and her husband, Glen D. Stevens.
She was born on July 11, 1936 to Curtis and Opal Steele in Eastland, Texas. She enjoyed fishing trips to Lake Texoma, Lake Arlington and any trip that involved fishing. She was known in her neighborhood as making the best catfish around. She loved having all of her neighbors over to visit and cook on the grill. She had many friends in Arlington that she loved dearly and considered them more like family.
She was very proud and loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She absolutely loved and adored her great-great grandchildren. She looked forward to the holidays when all the family would come together. She would always make her fudge. Nobody could make fudge like Granny. Even when she messed up it would still be the best ever! She loved when we would walk with her as if we were dancing and singing. It always put a smile on her face.
Granny will be forever in the hearts of her grandchildren, Tracy (Joshua) Wilson of Salado, Debra Swartz of Alice, and Ron (Jerri) Swartz of Alice; her great-grandchildren, Lyndee, Bailey, Hunter, Aidan, Zachary, Brooke, Mathew, James, Michael, Christopher, Caitlann, Shaylynn, and Shelby; and her great-great grandchildren, Kirrance, Kamdynn, and Kinzlee; her son-in-law, Ronald E. Swartz of Alice, as well as many cherished friends.
Private services will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are entrusted to Holmgreen Mortuary, 2061 E. Main St., Alice, Texas.
