Dennis Duane “Dusty” Weir, age 66, passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2019 in Corpus Christi, Texas.
He was born in Wichita Falls, Texas on December 3, 1952 to Betty Jo and William Edward Weir.
Dusty was a proud veteran having served in the U. S. Air Force for 6 years as a code operator. He attended Texas A & M University Corpus Christi, where he received his Bachelor’s degree. He was a former deputy operations manager at Amtex Security. He eventually came to work at CCRV where he stayed until his retirement.
He enjoyed fishing, golfing, watching football and also cooking. He especially loved spending time with his family and with Zeus.
Dusty was preceded in death by his parents Betty Jo and William Edward Weir.
He leaves behind his two sons, Chris Weir (Lisa) of Alice, Texas and Kyle Weir (Cheyenne) of Portland, Texas; two grandchildren, Rylee and Waylon Weir; two sisters, Karen Smith of Portland, Texas and Glynda Juneau (Conrad) of Shreveport, Louisiana; as well as many cherished friends and his dog, Zeus.
Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at Holmgreen Mortuary Chapel in Alice, Texas. Interment will follow at a later date at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery with full military honors.
