Gilbrando "Gil" Resendez, Jr., age 69, a resident of Orange Grove, Texas, passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2018 in Alice, Texas.

He was born on October 2, 1949 in Alice to Emilia and Gilbrando Resendez, Sr.

Gil was a loving son, father, brother, uncle, and friend. He enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest. He had a great love for his family and friends. He had lived and worked in Las Vegas, Nevada for many years, prior to coming back to Texas about 10 years ago. Here, he happily surrounded himself with caring people. He will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gilbrando Resendez, Sr. and his sister, Maria Bowser.

Gil will be dearly missed by his loving family, especially his mother, Emilia Resendez; his sons, Gil Resendez, III of Tampa, Florida; and Tony (Gina) Resendez of Oregon, Ohio; his daughters, Tonya (John) Henegar of Oregon, Ohio and Lucinda Rodriguez of Houston, Texas; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; his brothers, John (Linda) Resendez of Genoa, Ohio, Jose L. Resendez of Toledo, Ohio, Martin (Annie) Resendez of South Bend, Indiana, Edwardo (Maria) Resendez of Louisville, Kentucky; and his sisters, Terry Garza of South Bend, Indiana, Maggie (Manuel) Rodriguez of Orange Grove, Texas, Eva (Ernesto) Sifuentes of Orange Grove, Texas, Maria (George) Villarreal of Bono, Ohio, and Patricia Resendez of San Antonio, Texas.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at Holmgreen Mortuary Chapel with Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 5, 2018 at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church in Orange Grove, Texas. Services will conclude at the church.
