Ruby Stehle Mumme

Ruby Stehle Mumme, age 93, made the journey home to be with her Lord on Monday, October 29, 2018.

She was born on April 6, 1925 in Orange Grove, Texas to Emma and Fritz Stehle.

Ruby was a wonderful loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She graduated from Orange Grove High School then several years later, married Floyd Mumme on January 5, 1947. They moved to Alice in December 1950 and made this their home where both worked and raised their family. She was a life-long member of First United Methodist Church in Alice and a very active member of United Methodist Women. After raising her children, she worked at First United Methodist Church as church secretary for over 30 years.

She enjoyed playing cards, dominos with her friends and family, and cooking for the whole family. She also enjoyed tending to her flower beds around her home.

She goes home to reunite with her parents; her loving husband of 58 years, Floyd Mumme, and two brothers, Clarence Stehle and Ervin Stehle, and her very special sister-in-law, Evelyn Stehle and son-in-law, Mike Masur.

Left to cherish their memories of her are her four children, Agatha (Dale) Snyder of Ingleside, Texas, Susan Masur of Lockhart, Texas, Bruce F. (Paulette) Mumme of Orange Grove, Texas, and Barbara (Bill) Bailey of Alice, Texas; ten grandchildren, Wes (Candace) Masur, Scott (Thesha) Snyder, Steven (Courtni) Snyder, Marty Mumme, Mandy (John) Holcomb, Melodi (Richard) Dimbleby, Seth (Amanda) Snyder, Brandi (Joey) McMonagle, Bill (Trisha) Bailey, Melissa (Zach) Kinney; fifteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.

Family will receive friends at Holmgreen Mortuary Chapel on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Alice. Interment will follow at Alice Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Wes Masur, Scott Snyder, Steven Snyder, Seth Snyder, Marty Mumme, Bill Bailey and John Holcomb.

The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to the many caregivers who made our mother comfortable in her last years; with special thanks to Andrea Marin, Andy Clements, Rosa Villalobos, Rita Vasquez, and the wonderful ladies at The Pavilion.
