Ruth (Revilla) Barrientes

Ruth Revilla Barrientes, beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away on Monday, September 9, 2019 at the age of 55.

She was born in Alice, Texas on May 7, 1964 to Cruz Lopez Revilla and Lucas Revilla.

Ruth loved sports growing up and was very competitive. She was very creative and enjoyed arts and crafts as well as decorating. She was the best cook ever! She cooked for the pure enjoyment while talking and visiting with friends. The loves of her life were her grandchildren and she spent as much time as possible with them.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cruz and Lucas Revilla, Jr.; one sister, Juanita Revilla; one brother, Rogerio Revilla; one grandson, Ryan Andrew Cantu; one brother-in-law, Gary Boudah and two nephews, Leo Trejo, Jr. and Manuel Soliz, Jr.

Cherishing her memory are her four daughters, Amanda Y. Revilla, Kimberly Cantu, Elishya (Pio) Trevino, Jr., and Kayla Garcia; one son, Eliseo Barrientes, Jr.; her sisters, Yolanda Revilla, Hermelinda (Martin) Flores, Maria A. Perea, Ralphie Boudah, Kina (David) Pena, Lelly (Leo) Trejo, Rosie (Jim) Neilson, Melly Moody, Terri (Ron) Barrett, and one sister-in-law, Janie Revilla; her brothers, Lucas Revilla, III, Joby (Melba) Revilla, and George Revilla and Johnny Joe Martinez, who were raised as a brothers; eight grandchildren, Miranda Cantu, Sean Cantu, Alessandra “Ally” Trevino, Achilles Rodriguez, Olivia “Livvy” Trevino, Alyssa Revilla, Christopher Rodriguez, Lizabelle “Lizzy Belle” Trevino; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Alice, Texas.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 13, 2019 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father John Chavarria as celebrant.

Services will conclude at church.
