Virginia Bailey “Jiggs” (Barnhill) Myers passed on Thursday, May 16, 2019, leaving behind her loving family.
Virginia was born in Kingsville, Texas on November 18, 1936 to parents Frances Naylor Barnhill and Ezra “Zeke” Barnhill. She grew up in San Perlita, Texas and graduated from San Perlita High School in 1954. Her family moved to Woodsboro in 1961.
She worked for many years at the First National Bank of Woodsboro. She was a housewife, mother, and Maw-Maw to many.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edgar Myers, and a granddaughter, Sarah Crutchfield.
Virginia is survived by her sister, Judy (Curtis) O’Neal of Canyon Lake; her sons, Wesley (Natalie) Myers of Refugio, Dale (Debbie) Davis of Refugio, Blaise (Donna) Davis of Corpus Christi, Billy Myers of Victoria, and Richard Myers of Refugio; her daughters, Cindy (Alvin) King, Jr. of Refugio, and Karen (John) Nightingale of Refugio; twenty-three grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 19, 2019 at Blaconia Baptist Church in Blanconia, Texas. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2019 at Blanconia Baptist Church in Blanconia with Pastor David Parks officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Woodsboro, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Wesley Myers, Alvin King, Jr., Bo Crutchfield, Weston Myers, Alvin "Trey" King, III, John Nightingale, Cody Collins and Jeffrey Nightingale.
The family would like to thank Citizens Hospital 6th Floor Staff, JoBeth Whitlow, Hospice of South Texas, and Gloria Abila for their loving, compassionate care of Virginia.
