Adrian Benavides

Adrian Benavides,58, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on May 17, 2026, after a brave and unwavering battle with ALS. He was born on October 27, 1967, in Alice, Texas, to Adan and Maria Hilda Benavides.

Adrian was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend whose presence brought comfort and joy to many. He was known for his warm heart, quick wit, and deep devotion to his family and friends. He lived a life centered on kindness, hard work, and quiet generosity. Adrian dedicated his life to working in the oilfields, earning the respect and admiration of all who knew him. Outside of working, he was found barbecuing and cheering on his favorite football team. He was the kind of man who could fix anything and always showed up when someone needed help. Even after his diagnosis, Adrian faced ALS with incredible strength and courage, never losing his sense of humor or his love for those around him. His resilience was an inspiration to all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Adan and Maria Hilda Benavides.

He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Anita Benavides; his children, Ana Longcore (Levi) and Bianca Benavides; and his beloved granddaughters, Brianna, Kinlee, Madalynn Longcore, and Jaylynn Alaniz, who were the light of his life. He is also survived by his brother, Adan Benavides (Esmeralda); his sister, Elsa Gonzalez; his loving and supportive in-laws, Tomas Jr. and San Juanita Trevino; numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 11:00 AM at Holmgreen Mortuary, 2061 E. Main St., Alice, Texas. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:30 PM at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 603 E 5th St, Alice, TX. All services will conclude at the church. A Christian Burial will be held at a later date.

Adrian will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his strength, generosity, and the love he shared so freely.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are; Levi Longcore, Ramiro Torres, Juan Acevedo, Alex Acevedo, Markus X. Rodriguez, and Tomas Trevino IV.

Honorary pallbearers are; Arnold Hernandez “AJ”, Frank Espitia, and Emilio Adan Trevino.

Arrangements are by Holmgreen Mortuary, 2061 E. Main St., Alice.
