Alejandro "Hondo" Estrada, Sr.

Alejandro Estrada, Sr., age 62, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, July 29, 2021 in Corpus Christi, TX. He was born in Brownfield, TX on October 16, 1958 to Simon Estrada and Eliberta Cardona Estrada.

Alejandro was a craftsman by trade at Home Port in Ingleside for 19 years.

He enjoyed spending time with his family out at the ranch and meeting up every Sunday to play volleyball at Collier Park. Alejandro was a loving husband, father grandfather, brother, and friend who was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Simon and Eliberta C. Estrada and brother, Paul Estrada, Sr.

Alejandro is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Bettyjo Estrada; children, Alma Rosa (Aldo) Gonzales, Sr, Elisa (Matthew) Rudel, Sophia (Jesse) Leos, and Alejandro Estrada, Jr. all of Corpus Christi, TX; grandchildren, Aldo Gonzales, Jr., Alex Gonzales, Adrian Gonzales, Rylen Leos, Charlotte Rudel, Brady Rudel, and soon to arrive granddaughter in October; siblings, Gilbert Estrada, Ernest Estrada, Esther Gomez, and Yolanda Quarnstrom all of Corpus Christi, Ruben Estrada of Houston, TX and Mary Ordonez of Harlingen, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM at Holmgreen Mortuary, 2061 E. Main St. Alice, TX. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 603 E. 5th St, Alice, TX. Services will conclude at the church.
