Alma Arredondo Navarro, age 89, a resident of Alice, Texas passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 in San Marcos, Texas. She was born on October 14,1934 in Alice Texas to Plutarco Arredondo and Enriqueta Lopez Arredondo.
Alma was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She was strong, courageous, loving and had a great sense of humor. She had strong faith for God and would pray every day. She enjoyed being with family and friends. Alma was an employee of Jim Wells County Tax Assessors Office for over 30 years. She enjoyed helping people with whatever they needed. She was loved by everyone and never met a stranger.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and will be forever in our hearts. Alma was preceded in death her loving husband, Oscar Veliz Navarro; parents, Mr. and Mrs. P. Arredondo; sisters, Gloria Guerra and Delia Carreno; brother, Rey Arredondo, and Baby Arredondo Alma is survived by her loving children and their spouses; Oscar (Dodie) Navarro, Margaret Buentello, and Janie (Brian) Hutson; seven grandchildren: Jessica Calamia, Christopher Buentello, Jason Navarro, Jeremy Navarro, Kimberly Cormier, Briana Hutson, and Jordan Hutson; nine great grandchildren; and siblings, Romeo (Irma) Vela and Robert (Tonie) Arredondo.
A Public Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM on Saturday, February 3, 2024 with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 11:30 AM at Holmgreen Mortuary, 2061 E. Main St., Alice, Texas. A Funeral Mass with be celebrated at 1:00 PM at St. Joseph Catholic Church followed by a Christian Burial at Roselawn Memorial Park in Alice, Texas.
