It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Anthony Frank King (Tony) at the age of 64. Tony was born April 1,1960 to Robert and Sharon King in Minot North Dakota.
Tony was a very competitive person and was a very good basketball player winning a lot of awards in his high school years. An avid hunter and fisherman as well as a very good swimmer and lifeguard at Kenmare pool. As a good card player, he loved to play cribbage and poker. Tony was a very good musician. He played the piano and the trumpet, playing taps for fallen soldiers and played in the Kenmare high band, Kenmare had a very good stage band then and Tony always said that was a high point in his life. He was a very good student in school in chemistry and math. Tony attended Mayville State College and Black Hills State in Spearfish South Dakota where he played basketball. Tony followed the oil field to South Texas working for various companies. He ended up moving to the refinery part of the industry, where he was a very accomplished pipe fitter and eventually becoming a construction superintendent. Taking a lot of pride in his work and his attention to detail he was very good at his profession.
Tony is survived by his wife Lois McClellen King of Pernitas Point, TX ; son Robert Anthony (Tess) King San Antonio; stepdaughter Kayla Herschap Pernitas Point, TX; parents Robert and Sharon King of Willmar, MN; twin sister Anna Marie(Katie King) of Willmar MN; sister Anita Essler ( Sam & Jerry) Kenmare, ND; brother Andrew (AJ & Krysti) Pernitas Point, TX; sister Allison Dooley ( Moonie & Brian) Hastings MN; daughter Rebecca Hoffner Prillaman Arizona, numerous grandchildren, nieces nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Tony is preceded in death by his grandparents George & Lilian Frank of Kenmare ND; brother-in-law James McClellen a very good friend to Tony. Aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A viewing will be held Saturday, December 21, 2024 at 11:00 AM Followed by a Funeral Service at 12:00 PM at the West Shore Baptist Church. 150 FM 534 Sandia, TX.
