Barbara Jean Reese

Barbara Jean Reese, 73, of Beeville, Texas formerly of Lewisburg, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2024. Barbara was born October 2, 1950 in Nashville, Tennessee, to James and Joyce (Lambert) Mangrum.

She married the love of her life, William Newton Reese, on March 6, 1970 in Lewisburg, Tennessee. She was employed at Faith Christian Academy as a K5 - 3rd grade teacher for over 10 years and spent the last 15 years of her life as a homemaker. Over the last 25 years she was an active member of Faith Baptist Church in Aransas Pass, Texas and Beeville Baptist Church of Beeville. She loved serving others and working with children. Her pride and joy came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She stated before she passed that she was ready to see Jesus and her grandson, Kimball.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; a brother, Charles Mangrum; and a grandson, Kimball Clark.

Family members who will cherish fond memories of Barbara include her husband, Willie Reese; her children, Willie Reese, Jr. of Cuero, and Cindy (Sammy) Clark of Beeville; her siblings, Jerri (Wes) Handy of Mathis, Connie Mangrum of Illinois, Michael (Valerie) Mangrum of Colorado, Ricky Mangrum of Colorado, and Curtis (Vicky) Mangrum of Mathis; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; as well as numerous friends.

The Celebration of Life service will be held on April 6, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Beeville Baptist Church officiated by Pastor Tim Stowe.

Services are entrusted to Holmgreen Mortuary, 2061 East Main Street, Alice, Texas.
