Bob Hays

Bob Hays, age 91, passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at his home in Alice, Texas. He was born on June 2, 1930, in Patterson Louisiana to Clarence Robert Hays and Mildred Ross Hays.

Bob was a graduate of San Jacinto High School in Houston, Texas and proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was married to his partner in life and business, Kay, for over 42 years.  He was the owner and operator of Bob Hays Western Store and Saddle Shop for over 40 years.

Bob was a member of the S. B. Mosser Masonic Lodge #912. He was a 32nd Degree Shriner and a member of the Tejas Vaqueros. He enjoyed tending to his ranch, cattle, horses, and roping with his friends. For 20 years he and Kay held an annual Wine Glass Roping. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Zachary Ross Jones.

Loved ones left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Kay Hays of Alice, Texas; daughters, Cheri Hays Perez of Cuernavaca, Mexico, Connie Hays (Larry) Jones of Humble, Texas, and Kim Pipes (Mike) Quinney of Bellville Texas; grandchildren, Alex Perez, Jacie Kay Quinney, and Jesse Kolton Quinney.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at First United Methodist Church.

Donations to the following charities in Bob’s honor would be welcome; Zach Jones Memorial, South Texas Children’s Home in Pettus, and Shriners Children’s Hospital.
