Bobby K. Hughes

Bobby K. Hughes, 79, of Fairbanks, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at his residence in Alice, Texas. He was born October 14, 1943, in Sullivan, Indiana to Gerald Hughes and Bessie Harris Hughes

He was an Army National Guard Reservist, retired Carpenter, HVAC business operator/ College Instructor and the proud owner operator of Bob’s Snack Shack. He was an avid Hunter, Sportsman, and Showman of UKC Registered Black and Tans. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Ronald Hughes, brother-in-law, Baldemar Medrano and great grand-daughter Teara Lynn Baker. 

He is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years, Evarista “Eva” Hughes of Alice, Texas; two daughters and two sons, Lora O’Dell, and son-in-law Steve O’Dell of Clay City, Illinois; Amy Myers of Sullivan, Indiana; Bradley Hughes of Farmersburg, Indiana; Jeffrey Hughes and his “favorite” daughter-in-law Lourdes Hughes of El Cajon, California; Eva’s son, James Hobbs and daughter, Tami Booth and son-in-law Rob; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and cousins, along with many loving family and friends of Indiana, Texas, Florida and Alabama. He was an animal lover who left behind many adorable fur babies that will also love and miss him daily.

A Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM on Monday, March 27, 2023 at Holmgreen Mortuary. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 1:00 PM on Monday, March 27, 2023 followed by a Funeral Mass at 1:30 PM at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church in Orange Grove, Texas. Rites of Christian Burial will follow at St. John of the Cross Cemetery in Orange Grove, Texas.
