Bud Kuykendall, age 92, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 11, 2021 at his home in Sandia, Texas.
He was born in Henrietta, TX on September 24, 1928 to Theodore and Sarah E. Harvey Kuykendall.
Bud proudly served in the United States Army during WWII and worked in the Constabulary Unit. He climbed up the ladder in the oilfield business and was very well respected in the oilfield industry. He was honored when the community center in Pernitas Point was named Bud Kuykendall Building.
Bud was very kind and generous, and always kept busy working around his home. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and mother of his daughter, Ruby Kuykendall; and his second wife, Mary Ethyl Kuykendall.
Bud will always be remembered by his daughter, Patricia Ann Byrom of Von Ormy, TX; grandson, Allan Ray (Diane) Graham of Castroville, TX; great-grandchildren, Jessica (Robbie) Rye of San Antonio, TX and Stacy (Nathen) Lorraine of Fredericksburg, TX, Kaeden Monday and Dakota Monday both of Castroville, TX; great great-grandchildren, Easton Rye and Ave Lorraine; siblings, Lena Kinsey, Ethel Cooley, Lynn Kuykendall, Ellen Mazzo, Ruby Nell Davis, Gene Kuykendall, Knoll Kuykendall, and Hazel Pruitt.
A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 18, 2021 at Cleveland Memorial Cemetery in Cleveland, TX officiated by Pastor Brady Dancer.
Arrangements are entrusted to Holmgreen Mortuary, 2061 E. Main St., Alice, Texas.
