Carlos Gonzalez

Carlos Gonzalez, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed into his eternal rest on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at the age of 60.

He was born in Alice, Texas on July 5, 1959 to Antonia and Encarnacion Gonzalez

He worked as a floor-hand in the oilfield industry. He was member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Alice. He enjoyed watching his favorite teams - the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers baseball. His free time was spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and barbecues with family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Antonia Alma Godines Gonzalez and Encarnacion Gonzalez; two brothers, Fernando Gonzalez, Sr. and Baldemar Gonzalez; a brother-in-law, Arturo Castillo, and a grandson, Orlando Castillo.

Cherishing his memory are his loving wife of 35 years, Ester Gonzalez; three sons, Rolando (Jimmy) Castillo, Rolly (Dezarae) Castillo, and Justin Herrera; four daughters, Blanca (David) Gutierrez, Anna (Sergio) Garcia, Sally (Guadalupe) Gomez, and Brenda DeLeon; twenty-five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; five brothers, Encarnacion (Edna) Gonzalez, Jesus Gonzalez, Arturo (Susie) Gonzalez, Arnulfo (Antonia) Gonzalez, and Juanito Gonzalez; three sisters, Rachel (David) Castillo, Carmela Guitan, Isabel Gonzalez; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Holy Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Alice, followed immediately by Funeral Mass with Father Pete Elizardo as celebrant. Interment will follow at Roberson-Collins Cemetery in Alice, Texas.

Arrangements are entrusted to Holmgreen Mortuary, 2061 E. Main St., Alice, Texas.
