Christina Marie Almaraz

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Christina Marie Almaraz, who left us on October 24, 2024 at the age of 42. She was born on March 12, 1982 in Palacios to Debra Guitierrez and Raymond Fernandez Sr.

My joy to have had you for 42 years was an honor, your spirit, your love, your smile your giggles, your big heart to love your children the best you could, with all you had. To enjoy your short time with your grandbabies brought such joy. You fought a good fight, now go be with your baby and all who loved you, and we will see you again. I love you with all that I am  Love Mom

God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be.

So, he put his arms around you and whispered “Come with me”.

With tearful eyes we watch you

We watched you fade away.

Although we loved you dearly,

We could not make you stay.

A golden heart stopped beating,

Hard- working hands at rest.

God broke our hearts to prove to us,

He chose to take the best.

It’s lonesome here without you

We miss you more each day.

Life doesn’t seem the seem the same

Since you have gone away.

When days are sad and lonely

And everything goes wrong.

We seem to hear you whisper

“Cheer up and carry on”.

Each time we see your picture

You seem to smile and say,

“Don’t cry, I’m in God’s hands,

We’ll meet again someday!”

From Melissa - Christina was loving, wonderful, STRONG, and as perfect as she could be in my eyes. She loved us more than anything in this world and her grandchildren were her universe. Because as long as we were happy and she knew we were doing well she was content. She doesn’t just leave three beautiful children she left a growing family that loved her more than life. Even though love wasn’t shown in our family it was more understanding. She loved Candy crush, bingo, movies, shows, and music. Her grandson Mateo was her little best friend, it was a second chance at life to be present in his life. She loved him more than anybody.

Christina is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents John Dominguez and Elaine Dominguez; paternal grandparents Vicente Fernandez Sr. and Emma Fernandez; and 1 baby Manuel Almaraz Jr.

Those left to cherish her memory are her parents Debra Guitierrez and Raymond Fernandez Sr. (Debbie); her uncle David Dominguez Sr. (Esperanza); brother Raymond Fernandez Jr. (Iza); her children Crystal Marie Almaraz (Hilario), Melissa Rodriguez (Jose Brayan), and Christian Almaraz (Destiny); grandchildren Mateo Rodriguez, Bryanna Rodriguez, Braelynn Rodriguez, and Gabriel Ray; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. 

Visitation will be Tuesday, October 29, 2024 from 5:00 to 9:00 pm with a Reciting of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 pm at Holmgreen Mortuary in Alice, Texas.

Services are entrusted to Holmgreen Mortuary, 2061 East Main Street, Alice, Texas.
