Christine Dorothy Calvez Quinney

Christine Dorothy Calvez Quinney, age 79, born December 25, 1943 to Emil and Annie Calvez in Robstown, Texas. She passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 18, 2023.

Christine was a loving, caring and supportive mother and grandmother, thoughtful sister and kind considerate friend. Her passion was for gardening and growing things. She touched so many lives, young and old.

She grew up in the Banquete/Alice community. She was self employed with a Home Daycare for 30 years. She lived in Alice most of her life. She was a very hard worker taking care of children. Christine’s pride and joy came from her family and was the happiest when surrounded by her four children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Annie Calvez; sisters, Margie Stanford, Novileen Coffman and brother, Alton Calvez.

Christine leaves behind her children, Travis( Katie) Quinney of La Vernia, Texas, Glenn (Brooke) Quinney of San Angelo, Texas, Kimberlee (Brad) Scarborough of Orange Grove, Texas and Kristi Roberds of La Vernia, Texas; grandchildren, Matt (Krista) Cornett, Logan McIliveen, Joel Etringer, John Wayne Quinney, Kylie Quinney, Bailey Quinney, Nicholas Quinney, Ryan Quinney, Ethan Quinney, Destiny Startz, Kellum Scarborough, Brady Scarborough and Braelyn Roberds; great grandchildren, Jaxon Cornett, Ava Cornett, Kyla Quinney and Jayva Quinney; she also leaves behind her brothers and sisters; Gladys Schroeder, Louis Calvez, Betty Touchberry, Carolyn (Charlie) Coffman, Donnie (Charlene) Calvez, Larry (Judy) Calvez and Tommy (Cheryl) Calvez.

A Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 10:00 AM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM with a Graveside Service to follow at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church in Orange Grove, Texas.

Honored to serve as Pallbearers will be Ryan Quinney, Ethan Quinney, Brady Scarborough, John Wayne Quinney, Nicholas Quinney and Kellum Scarborough.

Arrangements are entrusted to Holmgreen Mortuary, 2061 East Main Street, Alice, Texas.
