Daniel G. Garcia, age 76, passed away on the morning of Tuesday, February 4, 2020.
He was born on April 11, 1943 to Lorenza and Jesus M. Garcia in Alfred, Texas.
He served in the U S Army National Guard for six years. He had worked in the texas oilfields as a rig hand until his retirement. He was a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan. He enjoyed being on his tractor, and watching sports and westerns on television.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Nicolas Garcia, one sister, Lorenza Bowland, and one brother-in-law, Raymond Casares.
Daniel is survived by his two daughters, Linda G. Saenz of Alice and Grace (Eric) Lopez of Calallen; three grandchildren, Andrea M. Ortiz, Jaclyn Lopez, and Matthew Saenz; four great-grandchildren, Alayah Villarreal, Neriah Villarreal, Bailey Ortiz, and Jake Ortiz; his brothers and sisters, Leonor Casares of Corpus Christi, Olga (Ted) Gonzalez of Corpus Christi, Seferino (Felicita) Garcia of Alfred, Mary Garcia Ross of Alfred, Anna (Israel) Guerra of Orange Grove, Marcos Garcia of Orange Grove; his brother-in-law, Bill Bowland, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 6, 2020 with Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening at Holmgreen Mortuary Chapel in Alice, Texas.
Funeral Mass will be recited beginning at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 7, 2020 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Alice, Texas. Interment will follow at Orange Grove Union Cemetery in Orange Grove, Texas.
