Danny Lee Mendiola

Danny Lee Mendiola, a loving husband, father, and grandfather, went to his eternal rest on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at the age of 62. He was born in Alice, Texas to Janie Mendiola and Emerson Hodges on January 14, 1958.

Danny was a proud United States Army Veteran. He was a truck driver in the oilfield industry. He enjoyed motorcycle riding, hunting and fishing with his son, Danny, and grandson, Danny III and granddaughter, Kailee, as well as working at the ranch.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Janie Mendiola Cooper, his grandparents, and his father, Emerson Thamar Hodges.

Danny will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Lora Neitch Mendiola of Alice, Texas; his son Danny Lee Mendiola, Jr. (daughter-in-law Mari) of Flour Bluff, Texas; two grandchildren, Kailee and Danny, III; three step-children, Christina Barron of Alice, Texas, Desiree Sanders of Cuero, Texas, and Jose Barron of Houston, Texas; and eleven step-grandchildren, Adrianna, Johnavon, Gabriella, Lila, Mariah, Julianna, Ramon, John, Gabriel, Viola, and Kali; one brother, Emerson Thamar Hodges of Columbia, South Carolina; as well as many cherished friends.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Danny’s life will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are entrusted to Holmgreen Mortuary, 2061 E. Main St., Alice, Texas.
