Deann Powell passed to life eternal Thursday, February 1, 2024. She was born in Woodsboro, Texas on April 25th,1949 to E. E. and Lou Ella (Chandler) Powell who preceded her in death.
She graduated from the University of Texas in Austin with her Bachelor’s Degree and earned her Master’s Degree at University of Corpus Christi. She was a lifelong educator beginning in San Antonio, Texas and retiring in 2010 from the Corpus Christi Independent School District. Besides being survived by many friends and associates, she is survived by two sisters who are lost without her, Euneen Wendt (Charles) and Lucrisa Mireles (Mano). She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Betty Sue Powell. Her favorite brother, Anthony Powell, passed away in 2015. Aunt De left behind so many nieces and nephews who knew how much she loved and cherished them all: Richard, J’Lynn, K’Ellen, Connie, Lori, Andi, Oscar, Brandi, Tiffinee and their families. Great nieces and nephews are William, Whitney, Morgan, Andrew, Evan, Jayme, Victoria, Alyssa, Katelynn, Monte, Hayden, Pryce, Alexis, Jimmy, Gabriella and Everett. She was so fortunate to also have three great, great nephews: Jaxon, Maddux and Adonis.
