Dennis Ray Huff

Dennis Ray Huff, age 81 passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2023 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was born March 29, 1942 in Alice, Texas to Herbert and Bertha Huff. 

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. Dennis was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Alice, Texas for over 50 years. He was a compressor mechanic for Houston Natural Gas Corporation/ Enron for 23 years and worked for CSI up until his retirement. 

On any given day, you could find Dennis enjoying a breakfast taquito and coffee with the coffee club, lunch on Tuesday and usually dinner with one of his many friends.  Dennis was a firm believer that a visit or quick check in were important and meant a lot more to people than we realized.  He loved spending time with his family, Facetime with one of his grand-children or great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed time on his tractor or with his cows.  Dennis served as the neighborhood watch patrol and would drive by to check on people and the local countryside. You could always count on Dennis to “pass by''. 

Dennis is now rejoicing at the Lord’s Table, and is joined by his parents; brother, Marvin Huff and sister, Doris Theime along with numerous other family and friends.  

Dennis is survived by his wife of 54 years, Wolle Huff of Alice, Texas; daughter, Heather (Larry) Hodges of Youngsville, LA; son, Heath (Melissa) Huff of Alice, Texas, grandchildren, Victoria (Stephen Robin) Hodges of Broussard, LA, Maelynn Huff, and Henslligh Huff; great grandchildren, Mason, Malayna and Saige; brother, Harold (Shanon) Huff of Roosevelt, Utah and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and many friends. 

The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers of healing while Dennis was in the hospital, the care and staff at Doctor’s Regional and all the other support staff that helped along the way.  The family would also like to offer a special thanks to the many family friends who helped Dennis especially Laurie and Bert Buegler. Dennis will be missed by all who loved and knew him. 

A Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Holmgreen Mortuary. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Alice, Texas. Burial will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
