Dolores V. Castro

Dolores V. Castro, 90, passed away peacefully in her home in Alice, TX on November 13, 2021.  She was born in San Diego, TX on April 8, 1931 to Pedro Villarreal and Mercedes Serña Villarreal.

 Dolores was a wonderful person who loved to cook and spend time with her family. She enjoyed family camping trips, watching her favorite shows, Gunsmoke and the Andy Griffin Show. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Dolores was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Luis Gonzalez; second husband, Candido Castro; son, Frankie Gonzalez; daughter, Eva Ortega; granddaughter, Victoria Gonzalez, sister, Juanita (Ricky) Sanchez

Family members left to cherish her memory are children, Patricia (ϯ Adan) Salinas, Juan Ricardo (Elsa) Gonzalez, Luis (Sandra) Gonzalez, Jr., and Lupe Gonzalez; 14 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; son-in-law Beto Ortega; sisters, Lydia (ϯ Tom) Potorenski, Zenaida (Frank) Ramirez, and Maria (ϯ Fidencio) Ruiz; brothers, Jessie (Gloria) Villarreal, Jessie (Rosie) Villarreal, and Faustino (Nelda) Villarreal brother-in-law, Ricky Sanchez; numerous nephews and nieces.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 on Thursday, November 18, 2021, with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM at Holmgreen Mortuary, 2061 E. Main St. Alice, Texas. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 19, 2021 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.
