Eloisa G. (Gamez) Luna

Eloisa G. Luna, 89, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family in Alice, Texas. She was born on April 18, 1934 to Juan and Dora Gamez in Realitos, Texas.

Eloisa was an employee at P&S Hospital and was a compassionate home health provider for many years. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren to whom she was lovingly devoted. Eloisa loved to do some legal and some not so legal gambling and having the occasional beer with her son-in-law. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Eloisa was preceded in death by her husband, Enrique Luna; parents Juan Gamez and Dora Garza Gamez; granddaughter, Nora Louise Braun; and siblings, Armando Gamez, Roberto Gamez. Juan Gamez, Jr., Olivia Vela, and Lupita Lozano.

She is survived by two daughters, Dora Luna Lopez (Luis) and Nora Luna Braun (Tom); two grandsons, Jason Braun (Whitney) and Lee Braun; seven great-grandchildren, Jasper, Hazel, Olivia, Alden, Kike, Blair, and Fiona; siblings, Minerva Martinez (Beto), Balvina Cisneros, Alicia Canales, Hope Reyes (Gilbert), and Rodolfo Gamez (Ludy); and many nieces and nephews.

A one-day service will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 as follows; Visitation will be held from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM at Holmgreen Mortuary 2061 E. Main St., Alice, TX; a procession will lead us to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, where a Holy Rosary to be recited at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 AM. Rites of Christian Burial will follow at New Collins Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers are Robert Gamez, Jr., Rick Canales, , Mario Perez, Zac Perez, Luis Luna, and Landy Vela .
