Francisca (Chapa) Flores

Francisca Chapa Flores, age 72, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, September 30 2021 in Corpus Christi, TX. She was born on September 3, 1949 in Mathis, TX to Valentin Chapa and Felipa Ramos Chapa.

Francisca was married to her loving husband of 46 years Reynaldo Flores, Jr. and had two sons. She was a devoted member of St. John of the Cross Catholic Church where she volunteered her time. She enjoyed cooking, hosting family gatherings, Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Her greatest joy were her grandchildren, Laney & R.J., who affectionally called her “Wella”. Francisca was a wonderful woman who was greatly loved and will be dearly missed.

Francisca was preceded in death by, her loving husband, Reynaldo Flores, Jr.; parents, Valentin Chapa and Felipa Ramos Chapa; brother, Valentin Chapa, Jr.; parents-in-law, Reynaldo Flores, Sr. and Alicia Flores; and sister-in-law, Thelma Laurel.

Survivors left to cherish her memories are her loving sons, Reynaldo (Cynthia) Flores III of San Antonio, TX and Rolando (Tina) Flores of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren, Laney Flores and Rolando Flores, Jr. both of San Antonio, TX; sister-in-law, Minerva Chapa of Alice, TX; niece, Natalie (Eric) Villarreal; nephews, Ezra and Eli Villarreal all of Corpus Christi, TX; and brother-in-law, Octavio “Tavo” Laurel, nephew, Raymond (Patricia) Laurel, and Luke Laurel all of McAllen, TX.

Family is requesting that mask be worn and social distancing be adhered to throughout all services. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, October 7, 2021 with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM at Holmgreen Mortuary, 2061 E. Main St. Alice, TX. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday, October 8, 2021 at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church; Celebrant, Father Matthew Stephan. Christian Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.
