It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Francisco “Pancho” Lopez Sr., at the age of 87. He passed peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday April 26, 2026 in Corpus Christi at Spohn Shoreline.
Francisco was born December 3,1938 to Cayetano Lopez and Dorotea Garcia in Springfield, TX. He was a devoted husband to his late wife Yolanda, a beloved father, a cherished grandfather, great grandfather and uncle. And a treasured friend to all that knew him. He was a devout landscaper that took pride in his work for over 30 years. He was a Eucharistic Minister, a Knight of Columbus member and a Mutualista. Frank loved to dance with his beloved wife, Yolanda at La Villita. As long as there was music, he was dancing. Bingo and the Maquinitas were his pastimes. He enjoyed cooking and family time as everyone loved his tamales and menudo.
He is preceded in death by his wife Yolanda, his daughter Maria Hermelinda (Mele), his parents, 2 brothers and 6 sisters.
Loved ones left to cherish his memory are his children Frank Jr (Oralia) from Corpus Christi, Maria Aurora Lopez from Alice, Gilbert (Sandra) Lopez from Ojo Caliente, NM. Bonnie (Frank) DeLeon from Alice. 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
