Guadalupe Garza Sr.

It is with deep sadness that Guadalupe Garza, Sr., age 91, has joined our Heavenly Father
on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at his home in Alice, TX. He was born September 5, 1933, in
Benavides, TX. to Emilio Garza, Sr. and Estella Salinas Garza.

Guadalupe also affectionately known as “Pepe” proudly served his country in the United
States Army in the Vietnam War. He was a construction worker by trade and spent his
retirement years helping others with his vast knowledge on construction. He enjoyed
woodwork, fishing, hunting, but especially spending time with his family.
Pepe had a great sense of humor and had a nickname for everyone. He leaves us with
great memories. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew and
loved him.

He is preceded in Eternal life by his wife Adelaida Hinojosa Garza; parents Estella and
Emilio Garza, Sr.; daughter Graciela Gomez (Greg); sisters Emilia Trevino, Maria
Rodriguez, Paula Garcia, and Dalia Cardona.

Guadalupe is survived by his children George Garza (Blanca), Guadalupe Garza, Jr. (Rosa),
Emilio Garza, Maria Guadalupe Garza, Paula Garza, and Gloria Garza; brothers Emilio
Garza, Jr. (Janie), and Noe Garza (Mary) sisters, Susana Garza and Elodia Godines (ϯ
Ramon). Twenty-five grandchildren; sixty-one great grandchildren; twenty-three great-
great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Friday, July 18th with a Holy
Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM at Holmgreen Mortuary, 2061 E Main St. Alice, TX. A
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 19th, 2025 at Our Lady of
Guadalupe Church, 1010 Beam Station Rd, Alice, TX 78332. Christian Burial will follow
at New Collins Cemetery located in Alice, TX. 

Honored to serve as pallbearers: Adam Garza, Guadalupe Garza, Greg Gomez, Gerardo
Leal Jr., George Guadalupe Garza, Sammy Garcia, Jesse Trevino, and Christopher
Aguilar.
