Hector M. Flores

Hector M. Flores, age 64, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 9, 2021, in Alice, Texas. He was born on April 30, 1957, to Benito R. Flores, Sr. and Susie Morgan Flores in Alice, Texas.

Hector enjoyed hunting, fishing, and in his later years reading. He always kept up with current events on the news and loved discussing politics and movies. He especially loved his visits with his sons and granddaughter. Hector worked with the Jim Wells County Tax Office for many years and eventually became Chief Appraiser. He resigned to work for an attorney and then moved on to the oilfield industry.

He was preceded in death by, his parents, Benito Flores, Sr. and Susie Morgan Flores; sister, Angelita Palos, nephew, Joey Contreras; and brother-in-law, Manuel Garza.

Survivors left to cherish his memories are his sons, Hector Omar (Shanna) Flores of Pflugerville, Texas and Marco Antonio Flores of San Antonio, Texas; granddaughter, Stella Sophia Flores; brothers, Ernesto (Peggy) Flores, Benito (Lupita) Flores, Jr., Arturo (Elena) Flores, and Robert Flores all of Alice, Texas; sisters, Yolanda (Ruben) Zuniga, Diana Garza, Dalia (Domingo) Reyna, Mary Ann (Richard Rocha) Flores, and Belinda (Juan) Aguilar all of Alice, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 1:00 PM followed by the Funeral Service on Friday, October 15, 2021, at Holmgreen Mortuary, 2061 East Main Street, Alice, Texas. Burial will follow at the San Diego Cemetery.
