Hector R. Garcia

Hector R. Garcia peacefully entered his eternal rest with our heavenly father on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at the age of 72. He was born in San Diego, Texas on October 16, 1950, to Enrique and Elodia Garcia.

Hector graduated from Agua Dulce High School in 1971 and married his high school sweetheart- Gloria Guerra. He attended trade school for carpentry and worked at McRan Construction before beginning his career at Celanese Chemical Plant in 1972. He retired in 2002.

Hector was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend. He is preceded in death by his parents- Enrique and Elodia Garcia, his brother- Eloy Garcia Sr., his sister- Esmeralda Garcia and his best friend- Reymundo Guerra Sr.

Hector is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years- Gloria Garcia, daughters- Patricia Garcia, Pamela Marie Garcia, Annie (Michael) Diaz, Melissa (Troy) Hinojosa, and son Rico Ray (Megan) Garcia. Brothers- Enrique (Nora) Garcia, Eduardo (Alma) Garcia, and sister- Elma (Enrique) Rosas. Grandchildren- Nikki Hernandez, Dominic Diaz, Derin Diaz, Korina Aguilera, Kailey Garcia, Leandra Garcia, Cameron Casias, Jay Casias, Ayden Gomez, Matthew Manzano, TJ Hinojosa, Rico Garcia II, Dylan Hinojosa, Addison Garcia, Mason Garcia and Great- grandchildren- Alannis Hernandez, Wes Hernandez, Eloise Hernandez, Dominic Diaz II, AnnaKay Diaz, Skye Diaz, Vera Hernandez, Emma Aguilera, Leo Aguilera, Morgan Reyes, Jade Diaz and Will Hernandez. 

A Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM on Sunday, April 9, 2023, at Holmgreen Mortuary, 2061 E. Main Street Alice, Texas 78332. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, April 10, 2023 at St. Frances of Rome Catholic Church in Agua Dulce, Texas. Due to weather, Christian Burial will be held at a later date at Roberson Collins Cemetery. 

Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Dominic Diaz, Derin Diaz, Jay Casias, Ayden Gomez, Matthew Manzano, TJ Hinojosa, Ruben Hernandez, and Guillermo Aguilera. Honorary pallbearers will be Rico Garcia II, Dylan Hinojosa, Addison Garcia, and Mason Garcia.
