Hershall Jay Hutcherson

Hershall Jay Hutcherson, age 78, passed away at his home in Aransas Pass, TX on Friday, May 7, 2021. He was born on November 6, 1942 in Camp Wood, TX to Roy Bowden Hutcherson and Evelyn Norene Talley.

Hershall began his career at the young age of 18 in the telecommunications industry where he continued to work for over 40 years. He worked for Western Electric and went on to retire with Lucent Technologies. Hershall loved woodworking, fishing, and gambling. He enjoyed staying active and was always out and about.

Hershall will be remembered as a dedicated husband and wonderful father who took in his two little girls when he married the love of his life and raised them as his own. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents; loving wife of 55 years, Mary Jo Hutcherson; and brother, Robert Hutcherson.

Survivors left to cherish his memories are his two daughters, Donna Andrews and Cindy (Samuel) Johnson both of Corpus Christi, TX; two grandchildren, Jade Johnson of Corpus Christi, TX and Jaleel Johnson of Austin, TX; great-granddaughter, Quinn Gilmore of Corpus Christi, TX; and his beloved cat, Sammy.

A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 14, 2021 at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
