Hilario “Lalo” Garcia passed away peacefully on February 23,2023. He was born June 25th, 1942 in Duval County Texas to Hilario Garcia and Teodosa Garcia, the youngest of seven siblings. On December 6, 1969 he married the love of his life Elicia “Licha” Garcia, and they had 53 wonderful years together.
Lalo worked for many years at John Deere in Alice TX. He retired at the age of 66 and the real adventures began. Lalo and Licha joined the Follow Your Dreams club and traveled across the country, getting to visit 38 out of the 50 states. Many casinos were visited along the way. In addition, they were always ready for road trips to see family in Michigan, Arizona, Oklahoma, and California.
Lalo lived a long, full and happy life at their ranch, filled with family, travel, gambling, card nights, and annual tamale making. He is loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Margarita Garcia, Emma Olivo, and Anita Cortez, and brother Marin Garcia.
Lalo is survived by his wife and partner of 53 years, Elicia “Licha” Garcia; brother, Conrado Garcia, (Elida); sister Beatrice Leal, both of Grand Field, OK and many many loving nieces and nephews. They will all miss his dearly.
A visitation will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at Holmgreen Mortuary Chapel, 2061 E. Main St., Alice, Texas with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 2:00 PM followed by a Funeral Service. A burial be held at Dilworth-Coyote Cemetery in Orange Grove, Texas following the services.
