We are saddened to announce the loss of Hilda Ybarra, 89, on March 19, 2026 who passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family who loved her dearly.
She will be remembered as a loving and caring mother who not only raised her own four children but had the honor of raising her grandchildren, Clarissa, Juan and Zachary after the loss of her daughter, their mother.
She was married December 31, 1962 for 63 years to her loving husband Narciso G. Ybarra. Hilda had a spark for life and a love of beauty that she chose her career as a beautician. She strived to share the beauty not only within herself, but to all those around her and her clientele. Her clientele loved her and were ‘regulars’ for over 30 years, she knew them by heart and didn’t need a scheduling book since they each knew their times.
Hilda loved sports and even coached kickball for many years and was part of a very active women’s softball team. She also loved baking, cooking, gardening, long road trip vacations, camping, and rock collecting during road trips. She was an active member of Stone Gate Baptist Church and she always looked towards the future as there was no end in sight just the beauty of life and loved ones.
She was succumbed to an illness that slowed her down but despite the progression of her illness she never gave up on life and fought until her very last battle. We will cherish Hilda for her genuine spark of life, love and beauty for her family and loved ones.
Towards the later part of her career many of her long-term clientele were aging so she expanded her specialty and started to follow her clientele until the end and started to work after hours for local funeral homes. She took great pride in laying the deceased in the utmost beauty that she could offer.
She is preceded in death by her loving adoptive parents Marcos Gonzalez and Lorensa Gonzalez; biological parents, Juan Gonzalez and Santos Medina; children, Reynolfo G. Trevino and Melinda L. Garcia; grandsons, Reynolfo Trevino Jr. and Joel Hernandez Jr; Biological sisters and brothers, Lucy Rodriguez of Midland, Beatrice Bailey of Odessa, Helen Sosa of Odessa, Julia Gonzalez of Bastrop, Clemente Gonzales of Oregon and Juan Gonzales of Odessa; nephew, Luis F. Gonzalez (Marlene)
She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Narciso G. Ybarra; daughters, Melissa Falcon and Monica Hernandez; brother, Ruben Gonzalez; biological brother Gilbert Gonzalez of San Antonio; biological sister, Janie Rodriguez of Oregon and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to her sitter, Irma, who cared for her and loved her as if she were her own mother during the last year of her life.
A special thank you to Harbor Hospice who was so wonderful and readily available for care and emotional support.
And a special thank you to Stone Gate Baptist Church members who visited and prayed with her and the family.
