Iadira "Dee Dee" (Islas) Garza

Iadira Islas Garza, affectionately known as “Dee Dee”, age 50 passed away peacefully on Friday, July 17, 2020, surrounded by her family. She was born in Canoga Park, CA. to Anacleto and Blanca Guerra Islas on December 12, 1969.

She grew up in McAllen, TX, where she enjoyed participating in beauty pageants and dancing. She was a proud graduate of McAllen High School.

Dee Dee worked for Kingsville ISD as a bus aide for many years. She enjoyed taking care of children, shopping, and was always the life of the party. She especially loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and was anxiously awaiting the arrival of her granddaughter. 

She was a loving, daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 18 years, David B. Garza and mother, Blanca Guerra Islas.

Iadira is survived by her father, Anacleto Islas; daughters, Vanessa Marie  (Erasmo) Reyes, Jr., Victoria Aimee Garza, and Jennifer (Brian) Chapa; son, Juan F.( Kristiana) Garza; grandchildren, Aubrey Marie Reyes, Emily Marie Reyes, Jaedan Chapa, Braedan Chapa, David J. Garza, Juan F. Garza, Jr., and Esperanza Garza; great grandson, Julio Ortiz III; and soon to be arriving granddaughter; siblings,  David Islas, Javier Islas, Daniel Islas, Aimee (Gerald) Zavala, Carlos (Beatriz) Islas, Benito (Marie) Islas, and Omar Islas; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Family will have a Celebration of Life Service at a later date.
