Irvan Ray Pierce

Irvan Ray Pierce, age 86, passed away peacefully after a short illness on March 2, 2023 surrounded by his family. He was born on August 3, 1936 in Dalhart, Tx. to George and Goldie Pierce.

Irvan graduated from Ben Bolt High School and then went on dedicating his work life to Texaco and Alice Southern Equipment. He was an avid gardener who had a green thumb and could make any plant come to life. You could always find him on the tractor with a cigar in his mouth or next to his best friend, Denise’s side. Irvan was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend. He loved his girls; he never missed a chance to call them on every special occasion even though he was always working out of town or was away from them. He was a big kid at heart taking his family on vacations to Garner, playing hide and seek in the corn field or baseball in the field. Irvan loved being outside, always mowing yards or working in his garden.

He was preceded in death by his parents George and Goldie Pierce of Dalhart, Texas. 7 brothers Edwin, Bill, Felix, Allen Wayne, Clem, Dowell and twin Ivan Pierce and 2 sisters, Virginia Starr and Georgia Belle Campbell. Niece Pam Pierce and nephew Ivan Shay Pierce and George Pierce.

He leaves behind his best friend and wife of 50 years, Denise Eckenrode Pierce and their dog, Aussie; daughters, Shannon Little of Alice, Tx; Carla (Dewayne) Berry of Orange Grove, Tx; Lori (Gene) Davis of Corpus Christi, Tx; Tammy (Jim) Fowler of Corpus Christi; grandchildren, Carley (Bianca) Garcia, Caitlyn Little, Chelsea (Doug) Mate, Quint Brumley, Tristan Huerta, Candice, Christy, and Bree Berry, Kelly and Keith Davis; great-grandchildren, Bentley Rayce Clegg, Addilee and Bailee Placencio, Mycah-Ortiz Garcia, Blake Garcia, Anistyn Berry; sister Florence Kale; brother and sister-in-laws, Cory and Vicki Eckenrode; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at Holmgreen Mortuary, 2061 E. Main St, Alice, Texas. A Chapel Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Holmgreen Mortuary. Burial will follow at Alice Cemetery.
