Izetta Richardson Obituary

Izetta Rea (Zeke) Richardson, 96, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 7, 2021. She was the fourth of nine children born to Austin Bigalow Rider and Valonia Browning Ellis. She was born and raised on the family farm in Gracemont, Oklahoma, on July 1, 1925.

Izetta graduated from Binger School and married Jesse Woodrow Richardson on May 24, 1944. They raised two sons, Jesse Neal and Farris Austin Richardson. The family moved 42 times before settling in Alice in 1958.

Izetta never met a stranger. Her love for people resulted in friendships all over Texas. She was president of Richardson Water Well Company, Alice Porcelain Arts Club, the Corpus Christi Porcelain Arts Club, and the Alice Petroleum Wives Club. Her health eventually confined her to her home at 808 Lincoln Street.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Jesse (Bub) Richardson; son, Jesse Neal Richardson of Alice, Texas; brothers, Burl Rider (Mary Lou) and Walter Rider (Barbara) of Oklahoma; sisters, Twila Church (Farrell), Nola Crick (Charles) of Victoria, Texas, Wanda Catlin (Harold), Joyce Kerbo (Raymond) of Oklahoma, and Donna Ericson (Dick) of Oregon.

Izetta is survived by her son, Farris Richardson (Debbie) of Alice, Texas; daughter-in-law, Debbie Richardson (Jesse) of San Antonio, Texas; brother, Philip Rider (Marie) of Oklahoma; grandchildren, Chad Richardson (Emily) of Pasadena, California, Camille Delgado (Marc) of Dripping Springs, Texas, Lacey Williams (Bryan) of San Antonio, Texas, Jordan Richardson of Dallas, Texas, and Philip Price of Austin, Texas; great-grandchildren, William Austin Richardson, Caroline Marie Richardson of Pasadena, California, Marc Austin Delgado, Tristan Jayce Delgado of Dripping Springs, Texas, and Connor Aedan Williams of San Antonio, Texas.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Izetta’s family, friends, and caregivers. Your love and compassion were truly appreciated.
