Jack Mills

Jack Monroe Mills, known to many as Monte, age 63, of Alice, Texas, passed away on 12/13/2025 at his home in Alice, Texas. Jack was born on 08/09/1962 in Three Rivers, Texas, to Norma Jean (Stewart) Mills and Jack Eldridge Mills, both of whom preceded him in death. He spent most of his life in South Texas, where he built a life centered around family, hard work, and meaningful connections with those around him.

Jack was married to Karyn Mills for 36 years, and together they shared a loving and devoted marriage. He was a cherished husband, father, Pop, brother, and friend, and will be remembered for his loyalty, strength, sense of humor, and deep love for his family.

Jack worked as a nurse for many years, beginning his nursing career in 1993. He was respected for his dedication, compassion, and commitment to caring for others, and he took great pride in the work he did throughout his career.

Jack greatly enjoyed hunting, arrowhead hunting, fishing, watching football, and spending time with family and friends. Some of his happiest moments were spent outdoors or gathered with loved ones, sharing stories, laughter, and lasting memories.

Jack is survived by his wife, Karyn Mills; his children, Zachary Mills (Gracie), Shelby Mills (Ruben), and Joshua Canales (Ilene); his grandchildren, Caleb Canales and Lainey Canales; his sister, Paige Johnson (Mike); his best friend, George Sanchez (Felicia); his sisters in law, Kathy Sauceda (Roddy) and Kim Newton (Mike); along with nieces, aunts, uncles and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norma Jean Mills and Jack Eldridge Mills (Shelly)

The family will receive family and friends during visitation on Saturday, 12/27/2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Holmgreen Mortuary, 2061 E. Main St, Alice, Texas.
