Jaime Benavides

Jaime Benavides, age 49, passed away at Angel Bright Hospice on Monday, October 14, 2024 in Corpus Christi, Texas where he finally succumbed to his injuries from an internal chemical burn sustained last August, 2023. He was born on September 19, 1975 to Vicente Saul Benavides, Sr. and Dalia Rios Benavides in Alice, Texas.

Jaime was a graduate of Alice High School class of 1994. He was a carpenter by trade and enjoyed working on various wood projects, fishing, and barbecuing every chance he had. From a very young age, he had a talent for drawing. He was always drawing something and took pride in the smallest of details Jaime had a big heart and it always showed in his willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was greatly loved by all his family and close friends and will be dearly missed by all.

Jaime is preceded in death by immediate family member -his nephew Joel Govea.

Other family members preceding in death were his maternal grandparents Roman Rios and Anita Garza Rios, maternal uncles: Roman Rios, Jr., Reynaldo Rios, Abelino Rios, maternal aunts: Raquel Rios, Elda Rios Vela, Bidelia B. Rios. Maternal cousins preceding in death are: Rene Rios, Roberto Rios, Jr. and Reynaldo Rios, Jr.; and his Fur babies that he cherished with all his heart: Zane (his Pitbull) and Tiger (his tuxedo cat).
Paternal Grandparents from Mexico preceding in death are: Jesus Benavides Gonzalez and Victoria Benavides De Leon; paternal uncles are: Cleofas Garza De Leon, Homero Garza De Leon and paternal aunt: Maria Magdalena Garza Padilla, and paternal cousin: Guillermo Elias Estrada Padilla Jr. from Monterrey N.L., Mexico.

Loved ones left to cherish his memories are his loving parents -Vicente S., Sr. and Dalia R. Benavides; siblings -Roel Govea, Sr. (Rachel), Dalia E. Benavides, Jesus R. Benavides (Elizabeth Bettina), Vicente Saul Benavides, Jr. (Angie Duarte), and Julie A. Benavides-Hernandez (Jesus R. Hernandez Jr.); lastly His partner of many
years, Michelle L. Doughtie. Nephews: Roel Govea, Jr. (Joy), Noel Govea, Justin M. Benavides, Adrian S. Benavides, Javier Beltran, Jr., Isaac L. Gonzalez and Oziel E. Gonzalez; Nieces -Monica E. Rios, Kai Lynn Hernandez- Taylor (Brendan Taylor), Sharon R. Hernandez, and Skylar A. Hernandez; Great Nephews: Roel Govea Ill, Jerimiah Rios Benavides and Jedidiah Rios Benavides, and Great Niece -Jadien Govea, and numerous cousins, aunts & uncles.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 28, 2024 at 10:00am with a Memorial Service at 11:00 am. at Holmgreen Mortuary Chapel in Alice, Texas. Burial of cremains will follow at Roberson- Collins Cemetery.

Arrangements are entrusted to Holmgreen Mortuary, 2061 East Main Street, Alice, Texas.
