James Carroll “Red” Arnold, 91 of Alice, Texas passed away Friday, September 30, 2022. He was born on November 30, 1930 in Longview, Texas to the late Eugene and Edna Arnold.
After graduation from the College Academy in Corpus Christi, Texas, he served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict. Upon his return from the Navy, he married Theresa Grace Whelan from Corpus Christi, Texas. He held various positions while working for Dixie Iron Works before retiring after 33 years of service. After retiring he enjoyed tending to his cattle and traveling.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Arnold; stepmother, Elnora Arnold; brothers, Duane and Eugene Arnold; daughter-in-law, Glenda Arnold and grandson Mark Arnold.
He is survived by his children, Mike (Anna) of San Antonio, Texas, Jennifer (Bill) Aldrich of Kingsville, Texas, Jeffrey Arnold of Sugar Land, Texas; grandchildren, Sarah Visel (Dan), Scott Aldrich (Jennifer), Cody Arnold, Courtney Garrett (Van), Denae Hajovsky (Roy) and Dylan Arnold; great- grandchildren, Blakelyn Aldrich, Taelyn Aldrich, Rylyn Aldrich, Ailey Visel, Joey Mendez and Everly Garrett.
Pallbearers will be Scott Aldrich, Cody Arnold, Van Garrett, Dan Visel, Dylan Arnold, Scott Hans, Abraham Aguilar and honorary pallbearers Jim Brockman and Gerald Wilkes.
The family would like to extend their thanks to Al Longoria with Christus Hospice and the skilled nursing staff at Mirador in Corpus Christi for their care and support.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at Holmgreen Mortuary in Alice, Texas. Chapel Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Holmgreen Mortuary with Pastor Jack Willoughby officiating. Interment will follow at 3:30 PM at Rose Hill Cemetery in Corpus Christi, Texas.
