It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jesse Alonzo Leathers at the age of 92. Jesse was born January 10, 1933 to Ottie Ray and Winnie Leathers in Axtell, TX.
Jesse attended North Texas State University in Denton, Texas. He proudly served in the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany for some time. After returning home he met
and married Ann Goetzel on June 7, 1958. He moved to South Texas where he worked for Knolle Farms before entering the oil industry. He was employed by Dowell in Alice, Texas for 18 years.
After retiring, he and Ann moved to Victoria, TX. For 10 years he was part owner of PAS Oil Field Service in Victoria. After he and his partners sold PAS, he relocated back to Alice, to be closer to
family and watch his grandchildren grow up. He especially loved watching them participate in sports.
Jesse was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Judy; son Gary; and his two brothers Ray and John Leathers.
Loved ones left to cherish his memory are his wife of 66 years Ann; daughter Ginger Delaune (Mark); his four grandsons, Mark Delaune Jr., Chad Delaune (Lauren), Chase Delaune (Mary),
Colin Delaune (Wendy) ; three great grandchildren Paisley Delaune, Elle Delaune, and C.J. Delaune; one future great grandchild and two great step grandsons Landon and Blake Lynch; brothers Tommy Leathers and Larry Leathers (Donna);
and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Holmgreen Mortuary 2061 E. Main Street Alice, Texas.
