Jesus "Chuy" Hernandez

Jesus “Chuy” S. Hernandez, age 65, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at his home in Orange Grove, Texas. He was born on June 16, 1956 to Natividad F. Hernandez and Rufina Sauceda in Taft, Texas.

Jesus enjoyed being outdoors at his Navidad Ranch riding his tractor. He also loved fishing, gambling with his wife, bbq’n so he could spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Jesus had a big heart and always welcomed everyone into his home.

Jesus is preceded in death by his parents; loving wife of 45 years, Norma Linda Hernandez; and brother, Aurelio S. Hernandez.

Loved ones left to cherish his memories are his loving daughters, Jessalynn Hernandez and Jessie (JD Ramirez) Hernandez both of Orange Grove, Texas; grandchildren, Victor Hernandez, Edelina Hernandez, Roger Herrera, Janeri Herrera, Rubi Hernandez, and Norma Esther Ramirez; siblings, Maria De La Luz (Manuel Munoz) Hernandez Attorney at Law of Houston, Texas, Jose Hernandez of Homestead, Florida, Juanita (Jorge) Saldivar of Taft, Texas, Esmeralda (Curtis) Delias of  Talbott, Tennessee, Gilberto (Alicia Adams) Hernandez of Portland, Texas, Teresa (Francisco) Tijerina of Houston, Texas, and Patricia (Saul) Lopez of Taft, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM on Monday, January 24, 2022, at Holmgreen Mortuary 2061 E. Main St., Alice, Texas. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at St John of the Cross Catholic Church, Orange Grove, Texas. Celebrant, Father Patrick Donohoe. All services will conclude at the church.
