John Rickey Pyle was born to E. J. “Johnny” and Neva Hooper Pyle on September 20, 1950 in Alice, Texas. He passed away on July 30, 2020 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law Scott and Coiece Pyle of Marble Falls, nieces Kristi Pyle of Bedford and Colleen (Jerad) Schneider of San Antonio, nephew Aaron Pyle (Lindsay) of Cottonwood Shores and great-nephews Coye and Owen Pyle of Cottonwood Shores and numerous cousins.
For Rickey, life was a bit different, but he lived it to his fullest. He loved his Bible, game balls of any kind, visits, and having someone read to him. He was surrounded by the love and support of his family, nurses, and doctors, and everyone who visited with him loved him. Living far past his life expectancy of 30 years to almost 70 years of age, he was an inspiration to us all. Even with limitations, he lived his life in full force. Scott, his brother, remembers how fast he was when they were kids; always giving it all he had. Thank-you, Rickey, for all the light, love, and strength you shared with us during your time on this earth.
We wish to express our profound gratitude for all the kindness, love and quality of care Rickey received from all of the doctors, nurses and staff at the Corpus Christi State Supported Living Center and recently the doctors and nurses at Spohn Shoreline hospital.
Graveside Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at Alice Cemetery.
