Johnny M. Pawlik, age 83, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2020. He was born in Alice, Texas on November 27, 1936 to Frances and John Pawlik.
Johnny had a big heart and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was a farmer all of his life. He enjoyed going to Leakey with his family to float down the Frio River and visiting with his grandchildren. He was a member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church for 83 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frances and John Pawlik, as well as two sisters and one brother.
Johnny will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 58 years, Mary Pawlik of Alice; his three children, Sheila (Gerry) Rhodes of Michigan, Michael (Marla) Pawlik of Alice, and Sharon Pawlik (life partner Mark Edsall) of San Antonio; ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Lawrence (Carolyn) Pawlik of Alice; numerous nieces and nephews as well as many cherished friends.
Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 10, 2020 at Holmgreen Mortuary Chapel in Alice, Texas.
Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, May 11, 2020 at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church with Monsignor Pivonka as celebrant. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Alice, Texas.
