Jorge C. Salazar, Jr., 63, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, September 11, 2021 in Alice, TX. He was born in Alice, TX on February 14, 1958 to Jorge Salazar, Sr. and Antonia Castañeda Salazar.
Jorge was a generous soul who was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He enjoyed bbq’n with his family and was an avid Dallas Cowboy and Alice Coyote Fan. He loved the outdoors, going hunting, playing the guitar, and was extremely gifted at fixing things. He spent many years working as a maintenance man in the apartment industry and also worked in the oilfield.
Jorge was very close to his siblings and accompanied them out for dinner or out to the ranch. He was the jokester of the family and always found a way to put a smile on your face. He was a loving brother, uncle, great uncle and friend who was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jorge and Antonia Castañeda Salazar, Sr.; Rene C. Salazar; niece, Brenda Lee Rios; and great-nephew, Salvador Rios IV.
Jorge is survived by his loving siblings, Ramiro (Maria Estela) Salazar of Alice, TX, Rogelio (Arcadia) Salazar of Alice, TX, Rodolfo (Hilda) Salazar of San Diego, TX, Elida (Carlos)G. Garcia of Alice, TX, Elodia (Roberto) Garcia of Alice, TX, Estela (Juan) Trevino of Michigan, Esther (Salvador) Rios, Jr. of Alice, TX; sister-in-law, Thelma Salazar; 26 grand nieces and nephews, 46, great grand nieces and nephews, and two great-great grand nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at Holmgreen Mortuary, 2061 E. Main St., Alice, Tx. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, September 15, 2021; followed by the Funeral Mass which will be celebrated at 10:30 AM at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, celebrant, Monsignor L. Pivonka. A Christian Burial will follow at San Diego Cemetery.
