Joyce Ann Dunn Ivey

Joyce Ann Dunn Ivey, age 67, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2023, after a long illness.  Born March 14, 1955, she was a daughter to Henry and Jeanette Dunn, a sister to Jan Tymrak, and Bill Dunn, aunt to Buddy, Kate, and Guy Tymrak, and "Tia" to two generations of many local kids.

In her lifetime, she was an artist, secretary, Museum Curator, and Religion Teacher.  She loved kids, dogs, and scotch, the order of which was determined by the kind of day she was having.  She was extremely smart and artistically gifted.  She had a sharp wit and an even sharper tongue.  She was generous in her need to help, without recognition, the less fortunate.  She will be missed. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Jeanette Dunn, her brother Bill Dunn, and her husband Clif Ivey.  

She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law Jan and Jim Tymrak, nephews Buddy (Janie) Tymrak, Guy (Addy) Tymrak, and niece Kate Tymrak, great-nieces Grace and Sophia, and great-nephews Aiden, Jackson, and James, as well as many cousins and friends.

A Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 10:00 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM. Christian Burial will follow at Alice Cemetery. 

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Aiden Tymrak, Brent Tymrak, Steven Buendel, Luis Espinoza, Byler Engelking, and Roel Galindo. 

 The family would like to thank the caring staff of DaVita, The Premier of Alice, and Altus Hospice, who took care of our Tia during her time there. 

Arrangements are entrusted to Holmgreen Mortuary, 2061 East Main Street, Alice, Texas.
