Juan “Big John” Antonio Perez, Sr. age 64, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2020. He was born in Hebbronville, TX on August 24, 1955 to Adan and Olivia Z. Perez.
Big John began working in the oilfield from 1974 through 1994. His first job was with Mohawk as an oilfield floorhand, and throughout the years he worked at several different companies. His last job was for Key Energy as a tool pusher, until he was no longer able to work. He spent a big part of his life in the oilfield industry.
On his time off he enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending time with his family, and his roosters. Big John loved his family and his grandchildren very much. He was dearly loved, and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
Juan is proceeded in death by his son, Adam Perez; granddaughters, Skyler Paige Sanchez, and Cassidi Faith Salas; and brothers, Larry Perez and Reynaldo Perez.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Katie M. Perez of Alice, TX; sons, Henry Eric (Jaime Flores) Perez and Johnny Perez, Jr. both of Alice, TX; daughters, Melissa Perez of Franklin, TX, Leslie Inez (Andrew Garza) Perez, and Destine Perez of Alice, TX; grandchildren, Amina, Teresa, Ivan, Leslie, Juan III, Jasmine, Evelyn, Miracle, Brooke, AJ, Andrew, Jr, and Lila; siblings, Jesus (Irma) Perez of Donna, TX, Adan Perez, Jr. of Alice, TX, Dolores Lucio of Alice, TX, Diana A. (Ivan) Maderos of Laredo, TX, Marie Ester Perez, of Pasadena, TX, and Rene (Michelle) Zapata of San Antonio, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 30, 2020, at Holmgreen Mortuary 2061 E. Main St., Alice, Texas, with Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 31, 2020 at St. Elizabeth of Hungry Catholic Church. Christian Burial will follow at Alice Cemetery.
