Juanita Garcia Obituary

Juanita A. Garcia, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, was born on November 22, 1937, to parents Francisco and Consuelo Arredondo. After a life filled with love and grace, Juanita passed away peacefully at her home on March 20, 2025, surrounded by her cherished family. She was 87 years old.

She grew up in Petronila, TX in a close-knit and was a graduate of Agua Dulce High School in Agua Dulce, Texas. On March 13, 1962, she married Israel Garcia, with whom she shared a beautiful and devoted partnership filled with love. Their union was blessed with a family who adored her immensely: son Israel (Sonia) Garcia, daughter Iraceli Garcia, and her beloved grandchildren, Valerie Aguilar, Emily Aguilar, and Israel Garcia III. Juanita took great joy in her role as a grandmother, nurturing her great-granddaughters Kirstyn Garza, Karley Garza, and Adalina Garcia, as well as her great-grandson Tavon Harris.

Juanita was preceded in death by her loving parents, Francisco and Consuelo Arredondo, her precious daughter Graciela Garcia, and her brother Francisco Arredondo.

She leaves behind a legacy of love through her surviving family, including her devoted husband Israel, her siblings—brother Salvador (Lupe) Arredondo, brother Robert (Estella) Arredondo, sister Amelia and Valdo Jasso, sister Amparo and Douglas Havemann, sister Enedina Santos, and sister Lupita Arredondo.

A woman of profound faith, Juanita was a dedicated member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Alice, Texas, where she also cherished her time as a member of the church choir. Her love for music and her strong Catholic faith were evident in her daily life, and she found solace in prayer, often sharing her love for God with her family. Juanita’s interests included cooking and collecting recipes. She also enjoyed reading magazines, continually seeking knowledge and inspiration.

Those who knew Juanita will remember her as a loving and graceful person whose kindness touched the lives of many. Her ability to uplift those around her, coupled with her unwavering faith, inspired everyone she met.
