Kenneth Dow Benson

Kenneth Dow Benson, age 69, completed his final 18th hole on November 8, 2023.  He was born November 6, 1954, to William Dow Benson and Georgia Faye Benson in Corpus Christi, Texas.

He spent most of his young life growing up in Alice, Texas and was a graduate of Alice High School.  

Kenneth spent most of his life working in the oilfield.  When on day’s off, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, baseball, bowling, and playing golf.  He also spent many hours just hanging out with friends and enjoying a cold one.  

He was called “Dad”, “Kenneth”, “Ken”, “Kenny”, “Kenny Boy” and “Benson” by his many friends and family.  Whatever you called him, he was always the same guy with a big smile who could crack a joke or come up with a witty comeback in a split second.  His laugh could fill the room.  His presence will be so greatly missed.  

Kenneth is survived by his two children:  Kristopher Dow Benson and Holly Marie Benson, his brother Roy (Kim) Benson and his sister Katherine Tiffany.  He is also survived by 4 grandchildren:  Audrey Lyn Benson, Kaden Jacob Benson, Kyler Lucas Benson, and Kinsley Nicole Benson along with his many friends and drinking buddies from the past years.  

His presence we’ll miss, his memory we’ll treasure, loving him always, forgetting him never.  

Friends and family will celebrate his life with a Memorial Service held at 10:00 AM on Friday, December 1, 2023  at Holmgreen Mortuary in Alice, Texas.
