Leonel Sanchez

Leonel Sanchez, age 78, passed away on Friday, December 16, 2022 in Corpus Christi, TX. He was born on August 12, 1944 in Reynosa, Mexico to Florindo V. Sanchez and Marta Garcia.

Leonel was a graduate of Edinburg High School and worked in the construction industry as a diesel Mechanic for Bay LTD for over 40 years. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife Estella V. Sanchez; parents, Florindo and Marta Garcia Sanchez; twin daughters, Geneva and Jeanette Sanchez; brother, Israel Sanchez; and beloved pets, Beauty, Pecan, and Diego.

Leonel is survived by his loving children, Maria Berta (Robert) Wing of Corpus Christi, TX, Jose Manuel (Judith) Santos of Killeen, TX, Jorge Carlos (Aida) Santos of McAllen, TX, Angelica Santos of Alice, TX, Martin (Marylu) Santos of Universal City, TX, Blanca Estella (Juan) Marquez of Alice, TX, Anna Lisa Sanchez of Alice, TX, and Meliza Sanchez of San Antonio, TX; sister, Lydia Sanchez; 26 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and pets, Diega, Yote, and Sergio.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM at Holmgreen Mortuary, 2061 E. Main St. Alice, TX. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. A Christian Burial will follow at Alice Cemetery.
