Marcella J. Blackwell (Marcy) passed away peacefully in Alice TX at an age of 95. She was born April 11, 1930 to Fred & Clara Smith in Peoria, Illinois.
Marcy is leaving behind a lifetime of love, memories, and quiet joys. She lived a long and meaningful life centered around family and the simple things that made her happiest.
Marcy married the love of her life, Milton T. Blackwell October 22, 1950. Together they shared many years of love & happiness until his passing in 2006. Their marriage was a beautiful example of commitment and devotion.
She had a true love for finding hidden treasures, whether at Goodwill or garage sales, always enjoying the thrill of a good find. Nothing brought her more happiness than time with her family. Those moments coloring together, painting, sharing laughter, or simply being in each other’s company were especially precious to her.
She enjoyed relaxing with a good book and never missed the chance to work on crossword puzzles, a pastime that reflected her sharp mind and thoughtful nature. Coloring and painting brought her comfort and joy, allowing her creativity and calm spirit to shine.
Marcy will be remembered for her gentle heart, her warm smile, and the deep love she had for her family and friends. Her presence will be deeply missed, but the memories she created will be cherished forever by those who loved her.
Marcy is proceeded in death by her parents Fred W. Smith & Clara B. Smith.
Left to cherish her beloved memory are her two daughters Lori Hartmann from Baytown TX & Jan Erwin from Alice TX; Grandchildren, April Crawford, Spencer Erwin, Justin Hartmann, Kaylea Valenzuela (Hunter) & Hailey Hartmann; Her great grandchildren Valerie Venzor, Roslin’D Hartmann, Kaisley Valenzuela, Kaison Valenzuela, Brooklyn Smith & Emery Hartmann all of which she adored.
The family gives many thanks to the amazing staff at Windsor Nursing Home for the care provided to her during her time spent there.
